This is only my personal observation: I believe that at least 60 percent of what we as individuals KNOW - is merely what someone else TOLD us.
That leaves a lot to be questioned! Some things we have investigated and found answers that we were willing to accept as truth. Then there are the things that we have been taught and then experienced for ourselves. For me that would be the Grace and Mercy of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Then… Continue

(Whoa!! This one’s a biggen!! I dug into my archives and found this entry that I made back in June07. I find it good to that, because it is so easy to forget the lessons I learned, and end up asking the same questions again. So here it is, as I see it:)
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7, ESV)
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight." (Proverbs 9:10,… Continue

Here's where I'm up to in James 3... (I'm using the New Living Translation this time.)
** WHAT IS WISDOM? **
Notice the two types of wisdom.
~~ Firstly, there is the worldly wisdom
, which James says is NOT God's kind of wisdom. And note the seven characteristics in the bold print...
"If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. (NKJ says… Continue

I'm the girl with sad eyes and plastic smile on my face.
If you you ask me how I'm doing I'll say, I'm fine and laugh softly. Just to make your questions go away.
I'm the girl who cried and screamed for someone to care, until I finally lost my voice.....
Years and Years, I'm Fine, I'm Fine, I'm Fine......
Just don't open that box in the corner where I put that girl... she's not!

Can't I get anything right?
Open my mouth nonsense flows
Broken glass looks back at me
Step off the cliff
No safety net
Falling, falling down the rabbit hole
Crazy mind out of control
Bruise my ego
Break my heart
Emptiness surrounds me
Bleakness, I can not see
Hot painful tears flow thru… Continue

I have to say that I have been blessed with many girlfriends. ( I know that sounds old fashioned) I have been blessed and seen so many of them blessed and cursed. I am writing this because of the ones that I have seen cursed. I am broken hearted, my tears for them over flow, my soul aches with my inablitly to change their paths they have chosen. Time has opened my eyes to recognize the signs of verbal and physical abuse early in my life. So I can see it in their's.
The men that tell them… Continue

Bingo!! I've found it!!
I've just discovered the key to the perfect man!!
I'm studying James 3, and in a previous post
, I was musing over the meaning of verse 2. "For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body."
And in the verses that follow, James pointed out that NO ONE is able to tame the… Continue

I've been broken and bitter more times than I can count! Today I praise God for everything that I've gone through! Today I see myself as being 'raised to praise Him'! At one point I questioned the Lord... "Father, You said that You wouldn't put no more on me than I could bear. Do You know this is still me"? Obviously He knew, 'cause Praise the Lord, I'm still here! He knew that He would be able to bring me through yet again! I had given up long before and resigned myself to living and dying in… Continue

"Thank you Lord for teaching us how to make You the center of our marriage. Humble us to grow beyond our ego, pride and past hurts. Help us to establish and grow the love Christ in us to show each other kindness, trust, patience, forgiveness and divine love. Help me Lord to honor the qualities of my mate. Teach me how to pray for my spouse.
Empower me with courage to speak up for anything out of order in our relationship. Soften my tongue and heart… Continue

The following prayer, based on a translation of the traditional Hebrew father’s blessing
upon his children, may be used by the head of the household, whether male or female.
“Father, I receive, welcome, and acknowledge each of my children as a delightful blessing from You. I speak Your blessings upon them and over them.
“Children, I bless you in the name of Jesus, proclaiming the blessings of God, my Redeemer,… Continue

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there… Continue

I can tell that many people have been sending up very powerful prayers because I am starting to feel a little relief. Im not completely over my depression but i am better. I am least going to work now. I am able to listen to music without crying. I pray hundreds of prayers throughout the day too. Constantly asking forgiveness and for mercy, blessings for those around me, family and foe. I am praying that God gives me the heart to forgive some people who abused me in the past.

Isn't Bible knowledge is wonderful? I love it!! I love the Word, because it is God's personal letter to me. And I can tend to be a bit of a Bible freak!! I can't get enough of it!!
But here is something I've learned from from an online buddy, and he's always challenged me on this one.
When someone asks a question, it is so easy to give a pat answer, an answer from the Good Book. What I say probably does mean something to me (I've had a revelation on it), but to someone… Continue

As men and women of faith we should draw near to each other as we draw near to God. We are called to minister to one another. To reach between the differences and find the commonalities. To offer friendship in the chance that one day we might offer the hope of Christ. Sincere friendships that aren’t based on appearances, street addresses, occupations, titles, or church attendance. Friendships based on godly ideals, not the world’s. I sudjest that have atlist three or more friends in a core then… Continue

I used to love them as a kid ... just as long as you had someone to see-saw with, and just as long as it wasn't a mean kid, who'd jump off when you were in mid-air!!
But, as a grown-up, I've discovered that see-saws aren't that much fun... well, the ones I've tried lately haven't been.
I'm talking about the see-saws of indecision, and not knowing really what the Lord wants us to do. Most of it has been related to finance, and I know many are in the same spot. Making right… Continue

I am currently going through a very hard break-up. I will be upfront and completely honest with you all so that your prayers will be in accordance to what you think I need.
I tried to kill myself twice by overdose. If it had been my time, i should have been dead. I took an entire bottle of Darvocets (which stop lung function) and i didnt even get so much as a stomach ache or sneeze. Then i took 10 prescription double dose Ambien sleeping pills and didnt even get sleepy. All i did was… Continue

I was finding things a bit tense at present, with about 60 million things to do!! So I say to myself, time to lighten up!! So here's a couple of funnies!!
A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!'
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty… Continue
