Find female friends in my age group that I can 'talk' to about both my spiritual and physical life.
Interests:
Hand Embroidery, crochet, knitting, sewing (making clothes), Family History, Cricket, studying the Bible and watching or listening to teaching DVDs or cassettes. I also thoroughly enjoy helping my daughter with her children, a 2 year old and 2 month old twins. Being a Grandmother is such a joy!
I'm passionate about...
Learning more and more about God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Encouraging others to see the positive side of life, and to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Helping people put themselves in someone else’s shoes and therefore see situations from a different angle than theirs. I just want everyone to be happy and positive. I'm also passionate about not letting TV shows occupy any of my time and encouraging others to use their time more wisely - spend it with God in His Word or praying. Upholding Christian values and encouraging my adult children in their spiritual lives.
My story with God
I gave my life to Jesus several times as a teen but with no follow-up I slumped each time. After my marriage (to a non Christian) and the birth of our 1st child, I felt a great need to bring her up knowing God so I went back to my childhood Church and felt a great relief in accepting Jesus again through a Luis Palau rally. I had the usual battle of a young mother to find time to grow as a Christian, but with each of our 3 daughters I used my night time breastfeeding times as study and prayer times. I've had some ups and downs since (who hasn't) but now I feel I'm really on the right track, and it is through adversity and because I've had 'time out' from life that God has been able to really get me to listen! As of March 2008, which is as I write this, I've been recovering for 15 months from Guillain-Barre Syndrome which is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. My effects were mild and included my arms and hands and my legs and feet. The nerves have to regrow and that is a painful experience because of constant disrupted messages to the brain and it is extremely slow! I am hoping I might be able to drive a car again by the middle of the year, but that may not be possible. So, for the past 15 months I've been spending lots of time with my Bible, and listening to and watching teaching tapes. I also feel that this time out from the world has been God's call to me to let Him change me. It is like a 2nd chance but I also feel it is my last chance to live a changed life for God. (My husband is still not saved) Our 3 girls are Christians and I give thanks to God for that and pray for them to strengthen their lives. I'm now a Grandmother, so I have the opportunity to spread the Gospel to my grandchildren just as my Grandmother nurtured me.
Other stuff about me:
I'm 51, happily married for 31 years, have 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law and 3 grandchildren - a 2 year old girl and twins 2 months old, a boy and girl.
