All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

God will never direct His wrath at you.

That statement may shock you. You may be thinking, “Then why do I hear preachers harping about judgment and God’s wrath on America’s sin?” Well, they’re wrong. The Word of God says that Jesus Christ took God’s wrath for all sins for all people who have ever lived or will live upon Himself. Specifically, the Bible says, But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (Romans 5:8-9)

Jesus said it Himself in John 5:24: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Those two statements alone prove that God is good and that He will never judge you for your sins, and you will never personally experience His wrath-if you are a believer.

Erin,

Your questions are the ones I wanted people to think about when I wrote this. These scriptures should do two things. First, show bor-again beleivers that they have nothing to fear in God, only respect. Second, it should motivated non-beleivers to come to our God who is good. I will definately need to address end-time scenarios with another post! My philosophy is to keep things simple, just to follow Jesus and beleive the Word, then forget any religious junk that others want to add on.

Thanks very much for the great discussion.

Hello Marty,
Amen, Jesus took it all and He said it is finished. He has given us the gift of salvation and all we can do is respond to Him with joy and offer Him the sacrifices of praise. I love this scriptures too, Jesus shows us clearly how merciful and loving Lord He is. . Its the Goodness of God that leads men to repentance (Romans 2:4)
