Thomas,

For the Christian, it does not matter which day one chooses to worship. There is no obligation for the New Testament believer to keep the Sabbath on Saturday. The idea of a Sunday "Christian Sabbath" is also unscriptural. Here are some Scripture passages that pertain to the Sabbath:

"So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ" (Colossians 2:16–17). The Jewish Sabbath was abolished at the cross where Christ "wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us" (Colossians 2:14).

This idea is repeated more than once in the New Testament: "One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it" (Romans 14:5–6a). "But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years" (Galatians 4:9–10).

In summary, for a Christian, one day is not more important than another. Each day should be a day of worship in everything we do for God. Having said that, however, it is good to take one day per week off to rest from your regular work and use the time for physical and spiritual refreshment.

Hey tommy,
You know, worship is no longer a thing you do on any certain day, at a certain place.. What necessitated worship on a day and at a place in the old testament was the fact that God chose a place to put his name in it and actually on several occasion did ask the children of Israel to build him a sanctuary and then a house and also commanded them to go to that house on a set day to worship Him. This was the sabbath day.. Today we are called by God to worship him in spirit and in truth and now his temple is your body and you can worship him cos he lives with you and is in you..
Worship simply means submission to God.. in other words, whoever you submit to is your God.. worship is not a "which day" qxn it is rather a "how to" qxn... May we spend a lifetime adoring him in worship submitting our all to him daily...Gof bless
cheers

I think the LORD wants us to worship him at all times, but the sabbath will be when you really go into depth with you and the LORD.

Sabbath is one of the God's ten commandments and the bible states plainly that people who trust in God must obey his commandment,if we are not to follow the sabbath commandment does it mean that we dont have to follow the other nine commandment?
Stay blessed

Thomas, again, sabbath keeping is not a requirement for New Testament believers, please carefully read my post above.

You may also want to visit http://www.gotquestions.org/Sabbath-keeping.html

“It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood” (Acts 15:19-20).

Sabbath-keeping was not one of the commands the apostles felt was necessary to enforce on Gentile believers. It is inconceivable that the apostles would neglect to include Sabbath-keeping if it was still God’s command for Christians to observe the Sabbath day. (an excerpt from the link above).

For the hour has come and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth forthe Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24
God is after your heart everyday.

I think it's all relative and dependent on you. The whole Sabbath concept really indicates a day of rest where you can focus your time and energy on your faith. For, say, a truck driver whose busy schedule only permits a day of rest on Tuesday, then that is there Sabbath-equivalent. It really doesn't matter... why should it?
