All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I have searched and found discussions on women leaders in the church and it seems people take whatever position they do and will stick to it. Each side refusing to see how the other can think opposite and each using scripture to prove their belief.

My question is...

If women are not to lead in church who will? Look around the congregation. How many wives sit alone with unsaved husbands at home?

My pastor pointed this out once. Said marriage and society both suffer because of weak men who don't teach Godliness in their homes.

Well...birds of a different feather all flock together I've heard.

Yep, I've said that one as well. And yes, I took you further.

Seek,

Just to offer a different perspective on the following:

Sorry need to get ready for church but one other thought. Many men in my own church call out their jobs as a reason for missing so many services. Yet I'm a full time employed single mother and not so young as to keep up with everything and I still manage church consistently. I want my son trained up in the way he should go. More men today should think the same rather than think they have to work late and are too tired for church. Why not sleep after the service?

Men are fulfilling their duty before God, too, as Providers and Protectors in the home, and not all work schedules allow for weekends off and employers even require mandatory overtime requiring employees to work many days in a row without a day off.

Although laws in some states do restrict the number of days in a row, from what I know, there are no federal laws that restrict days in a row. It's generally a matter of how much OT pay the employer is willing to pay and that's what limits them to asking on applications if a prospective candidate for hire is agreeable to work X number amount of OT, or asking the applicant how much OT they are willing to work.

If you need a job desperately, you're going to checkmark the box that says the highest amount, which is generally 16 or over, because the questions on job applications are tricky questions and there are reasons behind asking the questions, showing the job-related necessities an employer wants employees to meet.

It just seems like attending a local church is targeted and interfered with by the fallen world and the spiritual enemy in so many ways, from bad experiences within a congregation, to needing to keep an employer happy and holding down a job, to life experiences that have been very hurtful or even physically or mentally or emotionally disabling.

It doesn't mean that one isn't carrying a deep sense of guilt about not going. I know God doesn't understand when we sin and giving up on meeting together is a sin. God wants us to fellowship. One's spiritual growth is greatly stunted by not being in church, but it doesn't just hurt the one not going. When we seldom attend, our absence hurts others, too, because we are living stones, and each stone supports one another in direct relationship to Jesus, the Cornerstone.

Yes, Satan's going to attack this and other areas of the christian faith in any way possible, using the current world system to literally drive people as far away as they can get from knowing and doing God's will.

1 Peter 2:4-6
English Standard Version (ESV)
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture:

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
    a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Hey! Your html suggestions for using my iPad to make quotes worked! :)
But of course!

Now you're gonna ask about the exclamation point.
Nope. I've got an HTML textbook. Lol. Really, I do have one. It's from a class my husband took years ago, when he was getting his business management degree. I think I'll dig it up. It's in a box in the attic with other other textbooks.
Hint: look up the < font color=red > < /font > attribute. LOL
OK. I'm trying it but it isn't working.

Amanda the one's I'm referencing do this consistently. They will miss weeks on end claiming they worked late.

My coworkers husband is on one of those 12 hr a day a week shift and then off so many days, working the graveyard shift, but he looks forward to church.
My husband works nights but his work week is five days a week, Sunday thru Thursday. With the mandatory OT, he works as many as ten days in a row before getting a night off. I'm sure the ones to whom you are referring have a different situation. I was commenting from another perspective of it. Love ya!
No problem. I know there's some in all categories. I just wonder when men stopped leading...by example or otherwise. And the great male role models we have today?

Just to freak people out...

In Luke 10:18 Jesus says, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”

The Hebrew word for “lightning” is “baraq.”

In Isaiah 14:14 Satan says “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most high.”

The Hebrew word used for heights is “bamah.”

I have no problem with women serving or even leading. I have a problem with them leading men.
