All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

The word for Heart in Hebrew is Lev, which means the mind. Therefore, the heart of
Jesus reveals the love, pain, and compassion He felt for mankind.
Warm and throbbing, the heart of Jesus filled Him with concern for the welfare of
mankind. This man of God, who walked the earth, bore a heart of profound love and
compassion. He fed the hungry; healed the sick; raised the dead and cast out demons.
He wept with, and comforted those who grieved. His mission on earth was to bring a
message of love and hope for all. Above all He preached the Gospel. The Word of God.

Jesus, having a heart full of compassion, forgave sinners. He wept for His children, and
His heart bled as He foresaw what the outcome would be for sinful man. He could not
bear the thought of man suffering eternally. After all, He, in the fullness of the Holy
Trinity, created man in His own image and loved him above all things. ”Let Us make
man in Our own likeness; and let him have dominion over the fish of the sea; and over
the fowl of the air; and over the cattle; and over all earth; and over every creeping thing
that creeps upon the earth.” (Gen.1: 26).
The heart of Jesus, swelling with love, led Him to give His life to save a cursed people.
They crucified Him. The pain, imposed by whips, kicks, insults, and nails that pierced
His hands and feet, was intense but not as excruciating as the pain caused by the sins
of those He loved. (Matt.27:27-51). Yet, He promised that if man humbles himself, prays
and repents his sins, He will forgive him and heal him. (2 Chron.7:14).
Jesus poured out His heart to His Father when His hour had come.” Father, the hour
has come, glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You.”(John 17:1-26). His
loving heart remained faithful to His Father, despite His suffering. By dying on the cross,
Jesus obeyed the Father. Asking the Father to glorify Him was for the purpose of
glorifying mankind on the cross. Through His glorification, man obtained eternal life and
an eternal relationship with the one true God, Jehovah.
Today, the heart of Jesus remains alive in man, in the form of God’s Holy Spirit, filling
him with the hope of everlasting life, at which time, man will, eternally, be joined, heart
to heart, with Jesus.
