All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Out with the old wine and in with new wine

It is time to get rid of the old wine skin an the old wine. And bring forth new wineskin and the new wine . We cannot mix in both the law and grace. You cannot contain in your heart the law with grace. Because it always going to be a struggle. After all the law reminds you of your sin. As the word of God says in Romans 7:7- So what are we going to say? That the Law is sin? Absolutely not! But I wouldn’t have known sin except through the Law. I wouldn’t have known the desire for what others have if the Law had not said, Don’t desire to take what others have. The law was to point us to God. As the word of God says in Galatians 3:19- Well then, why were the laws given? They were added after the promise was given, to show men how guilty they are of breaking God’s laws. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of Christ, the Child to whom God’s promise was made. (And there is this further difference. God gave his laws to angels to give to Moses, who then gave them to the people; So if we are constantly living by the law. We are going to be like God says those who live by circumcision. It will only be our work  for the outside. But you have to remember that God looks at the heart. ANd the person who is a real spiritual jew is the one who heart has been  changed by the Spirit of the Living God. It is his circumcison on the cross that changes us on the inside. As the word of God says in Romans 2:29-  No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise[a] from God, not from people. And also this  Colossians 2:11-  When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. I am afraid that people are trusting in the law and doing their own works. And we are the ones walking around wounded and bleeding from all our EFFORts. Perfect example is 1 King 18:27-

About noontime Elijah began mocking them. “You’ll have to shout louder,” he scoffed, “for surely he is a god! Perhaps he is daydreaming, or is relieving himself.[a] Or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”

28 So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out.29 They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no sound, no reply, no response. We don't have to work for our salvation  There is a reason why God said in Isaiah 54:1 - “Sing, O childless woman,
you who have never given birth!
Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem,
you who have never been in labor.
For the desolate woman now has more children
than the woman who lives with her husband,”
says the Lord. Remember what Paul said in Romans 7. That we use to be married to the law. As the word of God says  in Romans 7:2-

For example, when a woman marries, the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive. But if he dies, the laws of marriage no longer apply to her. So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. The New wine is entering in the marriage with all the joys of the Spirit. Like Jesus show us in John 2:1-13 (You have to read that yourself please).  Our  life is to  receiving the new life through  new wine skin.  As the wod of God  say in Romans 7:6- But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit. Tha'st why we are  always being satisfy because it is giving us true nourishment. As the word of God says in Isaiah 55:1- “Is anyone thirsty?
    Come and drink—
even if you have no money!
Come, take your choice of wine or milk—
    it’s all free!
Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength?
Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the finest food. Hey I am still learning myself. But  I believe that Jesus is granting me a spirit of wisdom and revealtion to see the real truth of the gosepl.God bless you all in Jesus Name. AMen

Lord Jesus I am sinner and I saw how guilty I was when you reveal the law to me. I know i can never earn my salvation by my works. So I fully depended on your works to make me righteousness. That through your death, burial , resurrection.  I am now in right standing with God.I ask that you send me your comforter as you promise. TO lead and guid me all the days of my life.In Jesus Name.AMen.

Praise God you are a new creation. Get a New King James Version bible , pray daily , ask the Holy SPirit to help you understand and apply it to your life. Go to a God fearing church that teaches the real gospel. And fellowship with the body of Christ. In God Bless you on your journey with the Lord.IN Jesus Name. AMen.

Yes.But I am talking about living by the power of the Holy Spirit which helps us keep the law.

All this talk of the law leads me to ask...

What law?

10 Commandments?

All the laws written in Deuteronomy and Leviticus?

The sum up of the law by Jesus to love your neighbor and love God?

The reason I said this Watchman is because as a believer you cannot live by written codes, because James said if you break one commandment you break all. As the word of God states in James 2:10-For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in onepoint, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,”[b] also said, “Do not murder.”[c] Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. That's why i Believe in Romans 8:2- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. We are called to walk according to the SPirit. The law of  life  works in us by faith. We do not live by written codes anymore. Look at what it says in 2 Corinthians 3:3-  clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart and 2  C orinthians 3:6-  who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit;[a] for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. What I am saying here is that living by the law is old. ANd the Holy SPirit teaches us how to live in the 10 commandments.Because he has written it in our hearts. The  Spirit is what leads us to fulfill the law.God bless

I believe that we're in agreement Amanda.

I'm sorry that I came across as if I were defending myself, I just wanted to make clear that those beliefs weren't being distorted or twisted....I do care about those reading these comments, replies, posts, etc. and regarding me...no, I am not concerned in the least, it's not about me, never ever has been.

Love,

WM

No, I don't misunderstand at all.  I did not say that the Law saved anyone...???  Please read what I wrote.

This insistence in painting this picture of me as someone who is a works salvation person is getting tiresome.

Are God's Commands a burden?

1 John 5:3-For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Although I do, encounter many who believe that His Word is grievous...how sad.

So Amanda, do you still stand by the fact that the 10 Commandments are abolished and are no longer binding?

Comment by thewatchman on August 17, 2014 at 8:54pm

Thank You for the Importance of the Law......I did read this...., but still I do not see where it has been abolished????  The importance of the Law is not to only show us our sin but to desire to follow it with joy.

I will wait for Tawny's reply again....I'm afraid that it is not between you and I, I am looking for answers from Tawny the Poster.  Love you dearly.

I covet the prayers of the remnant dearly, so thank you for praying for clarity for me regarding this....I am sure that there are many who relish the thought that we have no Law to live by and that would be totally against the Gospel.

I sincerely would appreciate Tawny's response.
