All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Do you believe God is Able to get it Done?
Step back a moment. In fact, perhaps you can get outside, take a seat and look up at the sky above you... It really does not matter, day or night - the sky is so telling. [pictured is looking up from my backyard early this morning]
Can you imagine what it was like in the beginning of all things? Get ahold of a Bible and read the account of God's creating of heavens and earth in Genesis chapter one. For those who cannot access a Bible, I've included a link at the bottom to read this incredible rendering.1
How did God create? Legos, blocks, clay, mud? The psalmist tells us that he spoke creation into being. Check it out: For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.2 Another Bible translation says, For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.3
Please take a few minutes and write out what God created each day:
Day one:
Day two:
Day three:
Day four:
Day five:
Day six:
Oh come on - take five minutes and write down what was created and on which days. Notice the order, the ordering and the orderliness of it all. Maybe Shania Twain needs to write another song: That impresses me much!
What thoughts do you have about a God who could create as he did?

It is true, we serve a God of order and perfect design.
Think now with me of Nature . . . of weather . . . of things that are out of man's reach or control: earthquakes, thunderstorms, crashing ocean waves, colorful sunsets, water falling off a mountainside--just some of the things we can see. Such things are awesome in the truest sense of the word.
Having spent most of my life in California, I am no stranger to the power that is released when the earth quakes; I never tire of the might in a crashing wave; and I dreadfully miss all of the hues of sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. And here in the Carolinas, I have come to love the storms that roll in with booming thunder, first cracks and then sheets of lightning. And when I am in the mountains of Utah with Dylan and witness the determination of a fast river that rushes by, the beauty in a waterfall and sometimes spy a bald eagle overhead.--well, I am reminded of my Creator. Our God is a God of power and might, beauty and vastness. And these thoughts are just in regard to creation!
It seems I might be guilty of forgetting how great and mighty is the God I love.
With these things in mind regarding the vast power of our God, consider the prisoner Paul's praise of him:
"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
to all generations, for ever and ever."4
Paul was in prison thanks to the Romans - but perhaps you are in a prison of your own making and you are not even sure how to get out! Perhaps you have distanced yourself from God and you do not even know how to get back... this God of power and might is also a God of limitless love and forgiveness and freedom too, all of which Paul knew firsthand. Run to him and watch your prison doors fall away.
Because why? He is able to do far more than you could even ask or think. Try him. Look up, talk to him, ask him for help, forgiveness, comfort, guidance . . . whatever your soul needs to live freely in the life he has created for you. If you aren't sure what or how, hit 'reply' and ask me. I will be praying for you, starting right now.
The question is: do you think God is able to get it done?
Do you think God is able to set you free? Do you think God is able to release you to see beauty again? Oh yes, he is. He is the God of Wonders:
He is indeed able!
