All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

We have come across many people in our lives who pretends to have love for us but in reality they don’t have, inwardly they hate us. Scriptures remind us that Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, Matt. 24:12.

We know from the scriptures that a true Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

The person with false love pretends to be nice in the presence of others. Judas was first numbered among the twelve apostles and was the son of a man named Simon (John 6:71, Lk.6:13, 22:3; Acts 1:16-17). We know from the Bible that Judas was the group treasurer and was the one entrusted with their money (John 12:6; 13:29). Judas betrayed Jesus into the hands of His accusers for thirty pieces of silver (Mark 14:10-11).The betrayal happened in the Garden of Gethsemane by using a sign of a kiss, Judas showed the authorities where Jesus was that night. Kiss of Judas is the False Love filled with empty professions, selfish, covetous, cunning, and inclined to hypocrisy and lying. Proverbs 27:6 says Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Judas is portrayed as Jesus closest friend, the one to whom our Lord confided all His deepest secrets. Judas has heard the preaching of Jesus but never repented and betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. The apostle John further portrays Judas Iscariot as "a devil" (John 6:70) and a "thief" (John 12:6), as one who was motivated and possessed by Satan (John 13:2, 27), and as "the son of perdition" (John 17:12). Judas was a traitor and betrayer because of his apparent greed and love for money. Judas Hypocritical false love pretends to be real and true pleases itself and conquered by evil. This kind of Hypocritical False love hurts people far more than it ever helps them and is more evil than open hatred. Genuine love rejoices in the truth and will keep holding on to what is right no matter what circumstances might arise and is totally committed to the welfare of the other.

Hypocritical false love says one thing and then acts another way and can provide false comfort ,false affection and a bad advice, as Job’s friends did, making his suffering worse and displeasing the Lord. Hypocritical false love can be pretending affection for their own motives, selfish desires they hide hatred with lying lips (Prov 10 :8) and deserting us when our friendship no longer benefits them (Psalm 55:12-14; Proverbs 19:4, 6-7).

God commands us to flee from evil. Ephesians 5:11, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Scripture Warnings:

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good (Romans 12:9). Hypocritical false love does not hate evil but it compromises the good for evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed; (Jn 3:20)

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. ~1 Peter 3:8

We must not be like Judas Iscariot or Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.

Conclusion: Let’s not merely say that we love each other. Let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth.

Yes. True. The other thought I have on this is, we lost the definition of love. Media gave different definitions of love to the public and there is utter confusion.

As a christian, our love should be pure and gentle.....

Good thought

Just remembering, the command for new testament people is "love"

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

Matthew 22:36-40
