I have been under such massive stresses all at once and for years...job, finances, housing, transportation, rejection and hurts, turmoil, illness, and depression.  The last two being caused perhaps by all the former. 

I've always been emotional.  I would see doom and gloom in the simplest of things.  Flat tire?  I'd put my head on the steering wheel and cry.  Anxiety would set in not knowing what I was going to do, thinking this will have me here for an hour, I'll be late to…

Tabernacle of Praise VBS Rocks!

I often pray for discernment, asking God to help me to know His voice above all.  He says that His sheep know His voice, yet there are times when I'm not so sure that I do because what I hear does not happen or seems wrong to me.  We have so many voices playing in our heads...God's voice, the voice of satan whispering temptation and telling us we're not good enough, the voice of our own desires and sinful flesh, and the voices of all those who may have spoken curses over your life telling…

I think so many struggle over their salvation (and I certainly have) because we're like computers being reprogrammed.  GIGO = Garbage In Garbage Out.  We've been filled with so much garbage in our lives, that garbage is still coming out until we have renewed our minds to the point that our reprogramming begins to take over.

I heard this analogy and posted a short version in a discussion here and wanted to expand on this a bit.

I’ve pretty much always worried. I worry about the future, worry about bills, etc. Since being saved, it seems the worry has gotten so bad, but then it’s also been that it seems I’ve been hit with some massive issues. God’s way of getting me to overcome the worry?

So I get a call last night from a friend, who is worried, and she wanted to talk about her worries. Well…I was in bed and didn’t take the call. So I listened to her message then laid there and prayed…and worried.…

We all deal with this subject, yet we also all seem to have trouble figuring out which is which at times.  There are some discussions going on here now that play into this.  One is Does God want me to feel good about myself?  Well the obvious answer is yes.  If we feel bad about ourselves, we’re not going to hold our heads up and proclaim the gospel.  We’re going to walk around with our heads…
