THE PATHWAY TO LIFE

“In Him ( Jesus ) was life, and the life was the Light of men.” ( John 1:4 )

"I ( Jesus ) am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. ( John 10:9 )

AT THE CROSSROADS

INTRODUCTION

In Jeremiah 6:16 the prophet Jeremiah wrote;

This is what the Lord says; stand at the crossroads and look; Ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it and you shall find rest for your souls.

It goes on to say that they would not walk in it and suffered the consequences.

I want to give you a few things to consider when you find yourself at those cross road moments… Continue

GOING DOWN THE TWO TRACKS OF LIFE

GOING DOWN THE TWO TRACKS OF LIFE

We are traveling down two tracks like a train throughout our life. The one track is the track of hardship. There is just no way to avoid those hard times that we all face like loosing loved ones to death, broken marriages, financial set backs, illness, etc.

We also are also traveling down a track of peace, joy, and victory through Jesus Christ.

In the following verses… Continue

WHAT ARE WE FILLING OUR MINDS WITH?

WHAT ARE WE FILLING OUR MINDS WITH?

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

( Philippians 4:8 KJV )

In this Scripture Paul gives us an outline on what we should be filling… Continue

HE IS WORTHY

HE IS WORTHY

Have we seen his worth yet?

There is a story in the Gospels about a women who saw the worth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“While He was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, there came a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured it over His head.

But some were indignantly remarking to one another, “Why… Continue

UNVEILING THE GLORY OF GOD IN OUR LIVES

UNVEILING THE GLORY OF GOD IN OUR LIVES

“Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away.

But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains uplifted, because it is removed in Christ.

But to…

THE COMFORTER

THE COMFORTER

There is a false comfort, a deadly comfort, that can come from alcohol, drug abuse, pornography, or other self-destructive substances, or habits, that all too often result in misery and death while at the same time promising nirvana.

We all know those who have, or are, destroying their lives because they are so disparate to find some kind of comfort in their tormented souls.

There is a true… Continue

THE WAY BACK HOME

THE WAY BACK HOME

In Luke chapter fifteen we find a story that Jesus told that we call, “The Prodigal Son.” The story is a very moving story about a wayward son and how he came to his senses and returned home to his father.

I want to discuss the process of him returning to his father.

In verse eleven Jesus said, "A man had two sons.” he went on to say that the younger of the two sons wanted his share of the… Continue

WHILE I AM WAITING

WHILE I AM WAITING

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:

wait, I say, on the LORD.”
(PSALM 27:14 KJV)

You might be very surprised to know that the word, wait in the above verse means something very different from our English word , wait.

When we think of waiting, we think of some one waiting for a bus, or waiting for to be seated… Continue

APPROACHING GOD

APROACHING GOD

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 NASB)

“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God. (1 John 3:21)”

“This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have… Continue

WHEN WE DON'T GET OUR OWN WAY

WHEN WE DON'T GET OUR OWN WAY

In the Old Testament, in the book of first Samuel chapter eighteen, we read about man named Saul who was the first king of Israel. God was already taking the kingdom away from Saul and was going to make David and his descendants king over the nation of Israel. God was doing this because of Saul's continual disobedience.

Because Saul wasn't getting his own way, it drove him to a point of… Continue

THE REAL DEAL

THE REAL DEAL

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (John 5:29 NASB)

Misrepresenting God is a serious thing.

When we say something that is untrue about God, then we are misrepresenting him. Jesus in John 17:3 said,… Continue

SLOW FADE

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: PSALM 1:1

THE SLOW FADE- WALKING-STANDING-SITTING

If this is describes your life, and you are on a slow fade, turn around and go the other way before you find yourself in a terrible mess that will reap nothing but heart ache and pain for yourself and others.

(Psalm 107:10-16…

JEHOVAH-RO'IY

“Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees"; for she said, "Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?" (Gen.16:13 NASV)

This story in Genesis chapter sixteen is about a situation that arose because Abram and Sarai had taken matters into their own hands because Sarai could not have children.

Sarai talked Abram into taking her slave Hagar to be his wife so that they might have… Continue

WILLING AND OBEDIENT

WILLING AND OBEDIENT

Isaiah 1:19 says, " If you are willing and obedient, then you will eat the best of the Land."

A young boy was acting up and his dad told him to sit down. The boy was very defiant and the dad had to repeat himself, "sit down!" The boy sat down with his arms folded said, “ I might be sitting down on the outside, but I am still standing up on the inside!”

There is a real difference between being… Continue

THE CORNER STONE

THE CORNER STONE

"The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone." ( Psalm 118:22 NAS )

In ancient times the cornerstone was the stone at the corner of two walls that united them. It was the visible corner of the foundation of the building and the starting point of all future building above the foundation. It was the most costly stone due of its beauty and strength. It was also the… Continue

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

A Spirit filled life is a Spirit controlled life. There is a reason why we are not experiencing a Spirit filled life. That reason is that we haven't developed a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Let us look at the Scripture to get some insight about Him, so we can begin to build that relationship with Him, then we will be more willing to turn the control of our lives over to… Continue

SET APART FOR GOD'S SPECIAL PURPOSE

SET APART FOR GOD'S SPECIAL PURPOSE

In the book of Leviticus chapter eight we see Moses preparing Aaron and his sons to become priests of the Lord. Moses called them forth, washed them, he clothed them in linen robes, then He added to each one a belt, a turban on their head, and then anointed them with a special oil. Fully clothed in their priestly garments designed by God, Moses sets them apart for the special purpose as… Continue

COMPANIONSHIP IS A GOD THING

I have been inspired with a truth this week about companionship. In the Trinity (Father,Son,Holy Spirit) is this wonderful companionship called God. God knew that if He was going to create mankind in his image that companionship was going to be an important aspect of Humanity.

Jesus said that the commandments can be summed up in 2 commands which are to love God and one another.

Sin breaks companship with God and… Continue
