You Belong

You Belong.   Ephesians 2.11-22

Hello.

From our place in time, we have the privilege of 2,000 years of Christian faith being defined, built upon, and refined.  And in the last 400 years, the Word of God has been translated, printed, and now…

Purpose, A Hammer, and Flying

Purpose, A Hammer, and Flying.     Ephesians 2.10.

Good Day.

Consider a hammer.  It’s designed to hit nails.  That’s what it was created to do.  Now imagine that the hammer never gets used.  It just sits in the toolbox.  The hammer doesn’t care. …

Contentment and Poetry. Ephesians 2.10

CONTENTMENT is a gift, most would agree, but what does it have to do with poetry? Hmmm…

Who is the most contented person you know? I hope it is you! Would you say that you are contented? Is your heart at peace? Does your countenance reflect contentment? Do you think you could be content? Since I’m confident that all of us would love to be, let’s think about it . . .

Ah…… contentment . . .

It is a gift like no other~

Poetry in motion. Ephesians 2.10

Poetry in motion. Ephesians 2.10

Hi!

Did you ever try your hand at writing poetry? [Now you are recalling your attempts, perhaps with a crooked smile on your face, remembering… ] But can you only image the Creator writing poetry? What would it look like--the cadence, the verse … the turn of a word, clever phrase? Well, Friend, I think it might look a lot like you!

Paul wrote: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do…

Heaven … just for someday?

Heaven … just for someday?

Good Day. Yes, it is a good day!

Heaven – the believer awaits and anticipates it, but only for ‘some day’… I mean, not until our lives have been fully lived, goals achieved, bucket lists at least partially scratched off. If we are honest, that is how most Christians think. ‘Well sure, I want to go to Heaven, but I would love to hold at least…

Best Day Ever … what will I see?

Best Day Ever … what will I see?

Since I made the claim that the ‘best day ever’ is the day we see the Lord’s face -- the day we draw our last breath on earth and our first in Heaven… perhaps we need to take a closer look. After all, there is no greater hope than the hope of Heaven, God’s promised destination for those who love him.

So what is Heaven like?

In Heaven, there is no sickness or pain or suffering.

There is no cancer, no diseases, no…

Shocking contrasts. Ephesians 2.1-7

Shocking contrasts.  Ephesians 2.1-7

Shocking.  The stark contrast at the Boston Marathon finish line is nothing less than shocking.  Exhilarated runners had ‘broken the tape,’ enjoying the elation of finishing, and finishing well.  Soon on their heels were deafening blasts that split the sky, and the very souls of men, as evil…
