Breaking News from the Front. Brooklyn Tabernacle ~ October, 2013

She was a student that had been active at Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but has graduated. She used to live just about two miles from my home, though she is now a college student about 500 miles away … wondering. Wondering how to distinguish the difference between the Lord’s voice and her own, reaching out as she was through a cellphone text message.

Hmmm … Why did Paul write to Timothy? Who was this man, and why was he special?



Timothy was from Lystra, a city in what is the southern area of modern day Turkey. What an interesting life he led! And how well-suited to be mentored by the apostle Paul. I remember I've been told by mom not to ever cry in front of anyone. Her uncle taught her that it makes you look weak.

Is that true? I guess that plays a role in why I have had trouble feeling pain. I've been afraid I'd disobey mom if I cried in front of others.
