Wisdom vs. Wisdom

Greetings! . . . More on Acts 17 - Paul's Visit to Athens

Have you ever heard the word versus used as a verb? You probably have, if your kids played sports. . . They say something like, "Tomorrow, we're versing the Dodgers." 'Not even a word, but you sure understand what they are saying, don't you? Well, today, we are going to observe Wisdom versing wisdom--Godly wisdom versing man's wisdom.

Yesterday, we saw Paul in Athens 'versing' all of the gods of earthly wisdom,… Continue

Healing

A chronic menstrual disorder. A perpetual issue of blood. Such

A condition would be difficult for any woman of any era. But

For a Jewess, nothing could be worse. No part of her life was left

Unaffected.

Sexually..she could not touch her husband

Maternally – she could not bear children.

Domestically-anything she touched was considered unclean. No washing dishes , no sweeping floors.

Spiritually—she was not allowed to enter the temple.

She was physically… Continue

Pls. pray for the father-in-law of Pastor Rico Gutierrez

Hellow everyone. We are asking for prayers for Cecile's Dad. We just found out that he had a stroke yesterday. His brain is swollen and they found a clot at the back of his brain. Needless to say, this has been very, very hard for Cecile and the whole family. Please pray for him - his name is Cristino as well as the whole Mejia family. Your prayer are much appreciated.

Have a blessed week.
Rico (& Cecile)

STEWARDSHIP

unity Pictures, Images and Photos

Funny how a $100 "looks" so big when taken to church, but so small when taken to the mall.

Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at church are, but how short they are when watching a movie.

Funny how people can't think of anything… Continue

THE CHRISITAN A ND GOVERMENT

The Christian and Government

Romans 13:1-13:7

God’s timing is always perfect. As I began preparing a sermon for July 4th weekend, I looked at the next chapter of Romans and what did I find before me? I found Romans 13 which deals the Christian’s role in government. How timely.

Remember, the Apostle Paul shifted gears beginning with Chapter 12. We have moved from learning to living. We are no longer talking about doctrine; we are talking about duty.… Continue

Prayer of thanks

I love you Lord, and I lift my voice to worship you... oh my soul rejoice! Take pride my King in what you hear! May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear...

After reading all my friend's replies to my somewhat desperate letter, I could't help remembering this old chorus we used to sing in my church. It is true that the Lord lives in our praises! I have had so much cause to praise and worship Him through the years for the many blessings that He had so lovingly showered upon me. How… Continue
