Butchers For Hire

From My Perspective - - -

The news was terse and shocking: “George Tiller a Kansas doctor was shot and killed on Sunday as he entered his church congregation. Tiller has been one of four U.S. physicians who performed late-term abortions, making him a target of anti-abortion protesters. He testified that he and his family have suffered years of harassment and threats. His clinic was the site of protests in 1991 which were marked by mass demonstration and arrests. The clinic has…

I Thank You Lord For Every Thorn

I thank you, Lord, for every thorn,

Each heavy burden I have born.

The darkest moments of despair,

And every cross I've had to bear.

I'm glad I've suffered grief and pain,

Those seasons of distress and strain,

That stunned my pride and humbled me,

And turned my stubborn heart to Thee.

And thank You Lord, for every tear,

I've shed for those I hold so dear.

For 'tho I trusted you before,

Each crisis made me love you… Continue

Vinegar and Oil Relationships

For many years I lived in New Jersey where we were blessed with a heavy dose of Italy. With so many Italians in our area, it should come as no surprise that we had so many Italian restaurants. And what's their favorite dressing on a dinner salad? Of course, Italian dressing. Actually, I didn't know what Italian dressing was for much of my life. I always heard it called by the ingredients that make it up - vinegar and oil. And frankly, I'm sure glad they put them together. Can you imagine a… Continue

So Much Depends On You

So Much Depends on You

"I got two A's," the small boy said.

His voice was filled with glee!

His father, very bluntly, said,

"Why didn't you get three?"

"Mom, I've got the dishes done,"

The girl called from the door.

Her mother, very calmly, said,

"Did you sweep the floor?"

"I mowed the grass," the tall boy said,

"And put the mower away."

His father asked him, with a shrug,

"Did you clean off the clay?"

The… Continue

Gods Dresser

God's Dresser

author unknown

I hope the following story will minister to you if you are having trouble

forgiving yourself, or feel as if God will never forgive you of your past

mistakes.

A woman is dying of Aids. A minister is summoned. He attempts to comfort her, but to no avail.

"I am lost," she said. "I have ruined my life and every life around me. Now

I'm going painfully to hell. There is no hope for me."

The minister saw a framed picture of a… Continue

Magnolias

MAGNOLIAS

By Edna Ellison

I spent the week before my daughter's June wedding running last-minute trips to the caterer, florist, tuxedo shop, and the church about forty miles away. As happy as I was that Patsy was marrying a good Christian young man, I felt laden with responsibilities as I watched my budget dwindle . . So many details, so many bills, and so little time. My son Jack was away at college, but he said he would be there to walk his younger sister down the aisle,… Continue

When You Worry

When You Worry

You've been on my mind and heart.

I see you struggling and planning,

worrying and sweating, crying and running, at a furious pace.

You're trying to move that mountain by yourself again, huh?

God asks that we cast all our cares on Him because He cares.

Think about what your worrying says to… Continue

YOUR JOURNEY TOWARD CHRIST

NEIL ANDERSON'S DAILY IN CHRIST

from Freedom in Christ Ministries

YOUR JOURNEY TOWARD CHRIST

The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy (John

10:10).

How do evil spirits interfere with our lives? Let me answer with

a simple illustration. Imagine that you are standing at one end

of a long, narrow street lined on both sides with two-story row

houses. At the other end of the street stands Jesus Christ, and

your Christian life… Continue

Text: I Thess. 5:9 “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I have been wanting to speak on this topic for many years. In fact, waaay back in the beginning of my ministry I created a sermon on this topic and then was advised against preaching it. “Accentuate the positive” I was told, “when people know the good God has for them now and eternally, they will naturally want to follow Him.” I bought that philosophy… Continue

Ouch!! Pruning Hurts!!

This is a shot of my once busy-blossom (grevillea) tree near our front step. This is the tree where I got many bee and lorikeet photos from.

Sadly, this past summer, our tree hasn't had many blossoms, and the branches and limbs were looking pretty sad...

Time for a pruning!!

Now it has lots of new shoots coming up, and I'm looking forward to more great shots when it flowers again in a couple of months.

As I… Continue

"Why do you show those sickening, bloody pictures?"

Many people ask us,

"Why do you show those sickening, bloody pictures?"

Let us briefly explain our purpose for displaying the photographs:

Ending Censorship

We display these photographs because the media has censored the preborn child from the "abortion debate.” The American press refuses to show the American people what these babies look like who are dying in the womb. We are simply attempting to bypass that media blackout by going to the streets and displaying… Continue

Are Preborn Babies a People Group Worthy of Our Ministry?

From MISSIONARIES TO THE PREBORN

Preborn children are the most oppressed people group in the world today. In America, 4500 of them are murdered by abortion every day. That is a million and a half every year. Worldwide, 55 million are murdered every year.

All across the world there has been a campaign to strip preborn children of their humanity. They have been called "blobs of tissue," "products of conception," and "fetuses." All these terms are meant to dehumanize… Continue

On the Wings of Prayer

On the Wings Prayer

Just close your eyes and open your heart

And feel your worries and cares depart,

Just yield yourself to the Father above

And let Him hold you secure in His love -

For life on earth grows more involved

With endless problems that can't be solved -

But God only asks us to do our best,

Then He will "Take Over" and finish the rest -

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,

There's always one door to "The… Continue

The Season of the Soul

The Season of the Soul

Why am I cast down and despondently sad

When I long to be happy and joyous and glad?

Why is my heart heavy with unfathomable weight

as I try to escapethis soul-saddened state?

I ask myself often -

"What makes life this way,

Why is the song silenced in the heart that way gay"?

And then with God's help it all becomes clear,

The SOUL has its Seasons

just the same as the year -

I too must pass… Continue

SO IF THE SON SETS YOU FREE, YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTELY FREE

SO IF THE SON SETS YOU FREE, YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTELY FREE ( JOHN 8:36 GWT )

Ask yourself what does it mean to be oppressed?

To oppress some one is the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.

Many oppressed people end up becoming oppressors themselves, every victim… Continue

Your Trial of Faith.

Your Trial of Faith. Faith is a substance that we all can feel and recognize. Especially at times of great stress and anxiety. Does being a believer in Christ mean an easy walk? No. You can understand and feel the trials of Faith in these end days. Wars rumors of Wars, Fire, Flood, Petulance. Are you being touched by these things and still believe?

Faith is not hope, hope is something that you do not posses and Faith is something that you have, a substance, a possession, something… Continue

THROWING IN THE TOWEL

THROWING IN THE TOWEL

I recently listened to a young man share his testimony and he said a phase that stuck with me, “I felt like throwing in the towel.” I guess I have heard this phase many times before, but this time it stuck with me. When times are hard and it looks like we can't make ends meet, we might want to throw in the towel.

If you are a boxing fan you will be very familiar with the phase, “throwing in the… Continue
