Are we really living the Gospel Life? Check and see. Are we walking according to the Commandment of Our Lord, the Christ? Check and see. Do we love God with all our Heart, Soul and Srength? Do we love our Neigbour? Are we Clothing the Poor, feeding the Hungry, and Delivering the Captives free.

Back in church

There's a new effort to persuade people to get "Back in church".  It's targeting those who once attended church but who no longer come.  Most participating churches showed an uptick in attendance, and the effort is gaining momentum.

We're for anything that gets people back to church. But how much better…

Why worry Part II

This entry goes back to the topic on worrying that I posted a couple of weeks ago.  I feel like even though we know we shouldn't worry, we are still really insecure at times and cant help but to worry.  I know in my life at least, a lot of time and energy is spent on worrying about things that I cant control.  So not only does this not help the situation, but it can even be counter productive.  Living in fear and anxiety only hinders us and may cause us to miss out on opportunities that God has… Continue

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

—2 Timothy 2:15, KJV

The program is designed to help Christians become better wielders of the sword of the Spirit. Scripture is inspired by God (2Ti 3:16), holy and able to make wise (2Ti 3:15), comforting (Ro 15:4), for reasoning (Ac 17:2), and is truth (John 17:17). This study tool is presented with the hope that it will be used by the Holy Spirit to aid… Continue

Thanking God

When was the last time you jumped for joy?

A key biblical principle or Spiritual Exercise is ‘Being Thankful to God’. His Word tells us that we’re to express our thanks for what He’s done in our life and for who He is.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.Psalm 107:1

The more we’ve experienced the love of God and understand who He…

Paul opens up about his sin .... he makes sin personal. Romans 7

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do,” Paul wrote.  Have you ever considered what sin(s) Paul battled?  I mean, let’s be honest—it is difficult to think of him struggling with temptation and sin, isn’t it?  After all,

Paul was arguably the second best teacher that ever walked this earth,

the first and most influential missionary,

taking the Gospel from Jerusalem into Europe and…

Words of The Day

Sound Preaching

1 Corinthians 2 (King James Version)

1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

 4And my speech and…

Sin.....distance yourself from it. Romans 6.12-23

“God’s great love and purposes for us are worked out in the messes, storms and sins, blue skies, daily work, and dreams of our common lives, working with us as we are and not as we should be.”2

And yet…he doesn’t want us to be dragged down by sin…Paul finishes out Romans chapter 6--

(You are dead to sin, and alive to God) That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of…

Purpose Statement.

If you were to write a ‘Statement of Purpose’ for your life, what would it look like? Or put another way, ‘What’s your story?’  It would follow that how you choose to order your life would flow from that.

I’ve been thinking about that . . . I believe my life is a gift from God, (especially since my mother had previously had her ‘tubes tied’ and was 45 years old when she had me!)  Life is a gift from God, and what I do with it, is what I give to God.  Oh, I often fall short, but he…

Words of The Day

Thanksgiving

(1 Corinthians 1:1-9)

1Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

3Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our…

Be Kind to Yourself as you get Older

As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend..

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's and while Praising my Lord, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ..…
