Unfortunately, I've lost my passion about most everything as a result of many life losses, some most tragic. I'm here as a result of trying to find meaning for my life, and what God wants of me.
My story with God
I was raised in a strict Baptist family, going to a small church as often as the doors were open. I've wandered in-and-out of the church over my lifetime. I'm now reading the Bible starting with the Old Testament, trying to learn how to pray, searching for the wisdom of God, his direction and grace.
Other stuff about me:
I'm 57 years old, single, no kids, or siblings, with an 87 year old mother who was recently placed in a nursing home. I've taken care of my mother for many years. 4 days after her being moved into a nursing home, my 13 year old Golden Retriever Beau, suddenly took ill and I had to let him go. This was 9 weeks ago. Suddenly, the house is empty. The loss of my Beau has surely shaken me, taking me to the edge of a very dark place. Honestly, grief and guilt are overwhelming at times.

I don't want to sound like all doom and gloom but for the moment life is very difficult. There is much more than I will share here, at least for the moment. Let's just say I'm near the bottom and reaching for help from God.

I'm trying to find God's meaning for my life.
