I too have experienced severe depression. I totally understand where you are coming from. I just wanted to die. I felt like God had left me and all my hope for healing was gone.
Then one day I remembered what Jesus said while hanging there on the cross, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?" I thought to myself, I feel that way too. I was in such a dark place and I just wanted light and peace and joy again.
I was encouraged with the fact that Jesus had experienced that God forsaken feeling. I know that His was for a different reason but He still knew that feeling and I know that He understand that dark place that you are in and where I've come from.
Do not believe the lies of the enemy telling you that you can't have the relationship with the Father that you once had. The enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy and he will use any means he can. He knows exactly what buttons to push and when to push them.
First, let me suggest that if you are not already taking some sort of antidepressant, that you contact your physician and start taking some medication to take the edge off of the depression.
I am on Wellbutrin and it has helped me to get back on track.
Medication is not the whole answer though. While medication helps to restore the chemical imbalance in this mortal body we still need to turn to the Father for total healing. You are right, with God nothing is impossible. Believe it because it's true.
Secondly, begin to meditate on scripture daily. Read them as many times a day as you can. At least once in the morning when you first rise and then right before you go to bed. Know that God does care for you. You have done nothing that can not be forgiven. Remember, "All have sinned and fall short".....
There is nothing anyone of us can do to earn God's forgiveness or salvation. It's aleady been done and we can't do it.
Know that it is the Father's desire to see you healed and He cares for you. Be encouraged.
Matt.8: 2 & 3
And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me.
And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing: be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed.
Luke 13: 11-13
And there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had an infirmity caused by a spirit (a demon of sickness). She was bent completely forward and utterly unable to straighten herself up or to “look upward”.
And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, Woman, you are released from your infirmity!
Then He laid His hands on her, and instantly she was made straight, and she recognized and thanked and praised God.
Psalms 103: 2-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits-
Who forgives ALL your iniquities,
Who heals ALL your diseases,
Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption,
Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;
Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]!
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Heb. 13: 5
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
Proverbs 4: 20-22
The following are some scriptures that I meditate on and read aloud every day. It's a good idea to read the scripture aloud because it goes into your ear gate and it's important for your natural man to "hear" it. It does make a difference. I know from my own personal experience. My son attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
For they are like life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.
Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and release and rest your souls.] Matt.11:28
The Lord will keep me from all evil; He will keep my soul. Psalm 121:7
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me: You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. Psalm 138:7
Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall honor and glorify Me. Psalm 50:15
And My God will liberally supply (fill to the full) my every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. Matt. 7:8
In the day of my trouble I will call on You, for You will answer me. Psalm 86:7
You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
If you ask any thing in My name, I will do it. John 14:14
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed. A refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9
The Lord is my strength and song, He is my salvation. Exodus 15:2
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for ever more. Psalm 16:11
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart. Psalm 27:14
Do not fear; for I am with you: do not be dismayed; for I am Your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you. Isaiah 41:10
Cast all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
The Lord is near to them that are of a broken heart; and saves those of a contrite spirit.
The Lord blesses His people with peace. Psalm 29:11
As far as the east is from the west, so He has removed my transgression from me. Psalm 103:12
