    Missy,

Thank you so much for your impute. The Word for Today with Bob Gass that you shared with us is RIGHT ON!

That is exactly why i created this group, because at times we may a) over analyzing to the point that you're paralyzed and afraid to act b) under analyzing and moving ahead before you have sufficient knowledge and the wisdom to implement it.

This forum is about learning, & sharing, and it is driven out of a desire to help people how to think by opening their minds to diverse views, learning from history, wrestling with difficult issues, and graciously engaging with others.
  • Deserey Lynn Velasquez

Thank you for inviting me to join this group. I look forward to seeing what I can learn from this group.

HOW DO YOU STAY "ON FIRE" FOR THE LORD? I mean, do you ever feel like you are "burning out" or becoming "stagnant" in your walk? Not wanting to go to church, groups; not wanting to pray or read?

I have been walking for a year now. I go through this every 3 months or so. I'll be good and consistent for 2-4months. Then, I feel like I need to take a break. Sometimes I'm ok, I may miss something only once and a while. But other times, like now, it's been for 3weeks! I begin to feel angry, lost and sad. I'm argumentative, and life's trials have me worried and anxious. I KNOW THIS IS BECAUSE I'M AWAY FROM THE LORD. And I hate being away from Him. But then I feel like, HOW can I go and worship if I'm not sincerely feeling it in my heart; it feels FAKE then. And the last thing I want to do is be fake w/God. So, HELP, PLEASE!
  • Joan Greenidge

Hi daughterofgod it is alright to feel that way it is just mean at that time u just need to draw closer to God and worhip is not if u feel like doing it and when we worship it is not about us it's all about God it not base on feeling it is a lifestyle we should always want to do it even when we dont feel like it, our worship is for he alone amen. May God continue to bless you sis as u continue to walk with him for the devil love it when you feel that way so you ve the authority to crush the enemy God ve given that to his children.
  • David Velasquez

Sandra Thank you for your great posts. I appreciated them and you beloved. The Lord bless you.

God is one but He demonstrates Himself in three different ways and that shows his Omnipresence
  • Emmanuel Opoku

    who is an appostate?
  • Emmanuel Opoku

Jesus has not yet come yet people die where are their souls living now?
  • RoyW

    Emmanuel,

An apostate is one who commits apostasy. Apostasy is the act of forsaking one's religion. This term can be applied to all religions. For instance, if a member of the Islam religion became a Christian, he would be considered by them to be an apostate. Apostasy is spoken of in the following verse:

2 Th 2:3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. NIV

The Greek word there for "rebellion" is "apostasia" which means a falling away or a forsaking. The apostate is one who would forsake his religion.
  • RoyW

On the subject of the death of saints. I think Paul said it best when he said "he preferred to be away from the body and present with the Lord."

    2 Co 5:6-8

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 We live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. NIV
  • Emmanuel Opoku

Does the Holy Spirit pushes us down to the floor whenever He wishes to talk through us?
  • Emmanuel Opoku

what assures a christian that he is saved without raising questions?
  • RoyW

    Emmanuel,

There are many, many verses that would assure us of our salvation.
2 Ti 1:12 ... because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. NIV

Jesus identified those who are His by those who have faith in Him. Your faith testifies that you are His child. We learn to trust in Christ since we know for certain that we will fail. He will never fail us. He will complete the work in us that He has begun.

    Bless you brother.
    Roy
  • RoyW

About the Holy Spirit pushing us down. I think you might be referring to something called being slain in the Spirit. That can happen but I don't think it is the primary method of the Spirit talking to us. He speaks to us through His Word and confirms to us through His Spirit. I grew up around those who claim to have been pushed down (as you say it). I have never been pushed down. I have said many times that if it were the Spirit doing the pushing I would never be able to resist. I don't think it is required but obviously it did happen in the Bible. Usually, however, it was when the Spirit was manifested in power or an angel appearing, etc. When that happened the person being pushed over fell forward on their face. I believe you can receive from the Spirit without that. If that does ever happen to you, you will not be needing to ask any questions about that experience.
  • David Velasquez

    Emmanuel,

I thank God that Roy has very sound doctrine and has been giving you the biblical sound doctrines. i would encourage you to start discussions here when you have new or more questions. I had missed your questions and apologize for that. The Lord blessed you my friend.
  • Douglas A Pavone

On the statement of Gods omnipresence.Yes in Epesians 4:6 it says We have one God and father of all,who is above all thorough all and in you all. Remember Jesus told us of his father is a spirit being.Remember a spirit isnt corporeal,it has not body and is not subject to physical constraints.
  • RoyW

I've often heard it said...in regards to some lesson in the Bible...that *there are

two camps* about the subject. I wonder which camp God resides in?

    Blessings.....

I am reading Isaiah , and there is something that I am having trouble with.

Zion- is this interchangeable with Jerusalem? It seems to be used in different contexts.

I am trying my best to understand this hefty book, and I just keep reading.
