(Reposting from Verbum Dei- Philippines. This is probably the "clincher", among all the tests.)

"And he said to Him, 'Master, I have kept all these since my earliest days.' Jesus looked steadily at him and He was filled with love for him, and He said, 'You need to do one thing more. Go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, FOLLOW ME.'"

God's dream is to make you right with Him. And the path to the cross tells us exactly how far God will go to call us back.

It is not our love for God: it is God's love for us in sending His Son to be the way. If you want to touch God's heart, use the name He loves to hear. Call Him "Father".

He thinks you're wonderful!

I have written your name on My hand. Isaiah 49:16

Enjoying Peace in His Presence

I love you regardless of how well you are performing. Sometimes you feel uneasy, wondering if you are doing enough to be worthy of My Love. No matter how exemplary your behavior, the answer to that question will always be no. Your performance and My Love are totally different issues, which you need to sort out. I love you with an everlasting Love that flows out from eternity without limits or conditions. I have clothed you in My robe of righteousness, and this is an eternal transaction: Nothing and no one can reverse it. Therefore, your accomplishment as a Christian has no bearing on My Love for you. Even your ability to assess how well you are doing on a given day is flawed. Your limited human perspective and the condition of your body, with its mercurial variations, distort your evaluation.

Bring your performance anxiety to Me, and receive in its place, My Unfailing Love. Try to stay conscious of My loving Presence with you in all that you do, and I will direct your steps.

Psalms 42:1 As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God.

O that we would have a longing and thirsting for God that is so intense, that others would feel the heat of our desire for Him!

Only Jesus, the Living Water, can satisfy the thirsty soul.

2 Corinthians 8:3 For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will.

Freewill and God’s sovereignty are not opposed to each other but run parallel with one other.  Imagine that you are a slave on a ship.  You are chained to the deck below.   It is determined that you row for the captain of this ship.  You have no choice but to be chained to this ship.  This is like God’s sovereignty.  But even here you have freewill.  You are free to row or not to row.  If you do not row you choose to receive beatings by the quartermaster, but if you row, you choose not to be beaten.  You might even choose to break free of the ship by escaping your chains, but God’s sovereignty is not diminished.

God sovereignty does not diminish man’s freewill.  God never twists anyone’s arm into heaven.  God is all knowing of the past, present, and future.  He alone knows what we will do.

I hope this is helpful Macky.

Hello Let us take every thought captive Your thoughts determine the type of day you will have. Fill your mind with positive ideas, suggestions, and thoughts. You will find it will change your attitude and changing your attitude can change your life. We all have the choice when it comes to our own attitude - it can be positive or it can be negative, the choice is ours. Sometimes just reading an inspirational quote or a short writing focuses my thinking in a positive “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1

I've been in some sort of debate with close friends last night regarding man's free will. It seems that there is confusion among us in interpreting how free will relate to God's plan for an individual's life. They seem to think that whatever happens in their lives is part of God's plan including their decision and choice to succomb to temptation and sin. I disagreed with this since I know we have free will which God respects and even if our free will leads to us sinning, God will respect it. So there are bad things that happen in our life that are consequences of having exercised our free will. Will this mean... these bad things that happened as such are all still part of God's plan? The confusion sets in because if so.... then they are interpreting that there is no free will since it's all still about God's plan. i kinda got lost in all the exchange... I realized I needed guidance on this matter. I'd appreciate if anyone of you can direct me to scriptures that can help me understand more about free will in connection with God's will/plan. Thank you!

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

It is through Praise we enter His gates with thanks giving in our heart singing with all meledy in our hearts
