PHILIPPIANS 3:7-16

7But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comesfrom God on the basis of faith, 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; 16however, let us keep living by that samestandard to which we have attained ELAINE MY BELOVED SISTER,SO DO I.

Be Like Christ

1Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PHILIPPIANS 2:12-18

12So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

14Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. 17But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

(1 Corinthians 14: 34-35)

MY BIBLE STUDY PARTNER WHO IS A NON SECTARIAN BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN INSISTS ON THE IDEA THAT THE  BIBLE SHOULD  BE INTERPRETED AS IT IS... LITERALLY, NO OTHER WAY BUT HOW THE WORDS ARE PLAINLY WRITTEN. AS A CATHOLIC, I WAS TAUGHT OTHERWISE. THE VERSE ABOVE... I DOUBT THAT IT CAN BE TAKEN AS IT IS. IF IT IS LITERALLY WRITTEN... THEN I ASK WHY???  I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE THINKING THAT MY GOD WILL JUSTIFY INEQUALITY BETWEEN GENDERS LIKE THAT. I TRULY HOPE THIS VERSE IS NOT BEING USED AS A JUSTIFICATION TO THINK WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE HEARD, NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK HER MIND, AND OVER ALL UNIMPORTANT. I HAVE HEARD WOMEN TAKE ON MALE DOMINION OVER THEM BECAUSE OF THIS VERSE AND IT MAKES ME SAD.  :-(

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 Therefore,we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

vs 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

As believers, we are Christ's ambassadors, sent with His message of reconcilation has an important responsibility. We dare not take this responsibility lightly. How well are you fulfilling your commission as Christ's ambassador?

Christ's righteousness is poured into us at our conversion. This is what Christians mean by Christ's atonement for sin.
