Philipians 2:5-8 HaveThe attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

vs6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

vs7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

vs8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death on a cross.

If we say we follow Christ, we must also say we want to live as He lived. We should develop His attitude of humility as we serve, even when we are not likely to get recognition for our efforts. Are you selfishly clinging to your rights, or are you willing to serve?

I pray for the men and women who serve for our country. The Lord be with them and their families.

Hebrew 10:35-36

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

vs36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

Show by your endurance that your faith is real. Faith means resting in what Christ has done for us in the past, but it also means trusting Him for what He will do for us in the present and in the future.

It is Well with You
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds”
(Isaiah 3:10, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

No matter what’s happening in your life, God wants you to know that it is well with you today! Now you may say, “Joel, it is not well in my finances. I’m struggling. I’m in debt.” That’s okay. It’s not the end. God is still working. Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord your Provider, has breakthroughs coming your way. If all is not well in your health, don’t get discouraged. It’s not the end. God has healing and restoration coming your way. If all is not well in your family or in a relationship, don’t write a child or spouse off. They may be on the wrong course, but it’s not the end. In the end, God promises all will be well.

Remember, our God does not end in defeat. He didn’t say, “Most of the time, I will cause you to triumph.” No, He said, “I will always cause you to triumph.” You may go through difficulties, through unfair situations or through betrayals, but the point is that you are going through. You’re not staying there! It’s not permanent. Defeat is not your normal state. If all is not well in your life that simply means you haven’t made it to your new destination. Stay in faith, keep declaring His Word and keep moving forward because it is well with you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your Word which is life and health to my soul. I trust that You are working behind the scenes for my good. I will hide Your Word in my heart, knowing that it will be well with me because You are good and faithful in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together,"

Says the LORD,

"Though your sins are as scarlet,

They will be as white as snow;

Though they are red like crimson,

They will be like wool.

God can remove sin's stain from our lives as He promised. God's Word assures us that if we are willing and obedient, Christ will forgive and remove our most indelible stains.

I have downloaded 3 books in the Ancient Context Ancient Faith Series (3 Volumes) by Gary Burge on Friday.

The Bible and the Land - Encounters With Jesus - Jesus the Middle Eastern Story Teller

I had seen one of these books in a Christian bookstore some time ago and considerered purchasing it.  The problem was that it was not a lenghty book.  Each of these volumes is just over 100 pages with a total of all three at 352 pages.  Personally, I like larger volumes but I was definitely not disappointed in what I have read so far.  I have worked my way through The Bible and the Land and am currently about half way through Encounters With Jesus. These are really good books and bring a whole new understanding to the text of scripture.   Though it is not a large set and there are a lot of pictures and maps scattered throughout, the pictures really add to the quality and understanding of the text.  I am looking forward to studying more from Gary Burge.
