When we got saved, we are saved completely cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb. Changes should take place in a process depending on our submission to the POTTER hands. LIVING IN A SINFUL LIFE ALWAYS BRINGS A QUESTION ABOUT HIS SALVATION, ARE YOU REALLY SAVED? Redeem people doesn't continue in sinning but i doesn't meant we are not capable of sinning. God is faithful and Just but don't use this to indulge in sinful nature. Christians should have new a set of mind and that is to praise and glorify God. We are sinful in nature that's why we need Jesus Christ in our life, to be called peculiar people. Living that is pleasing to the Father. our deeds a sweet aroma unto His feet.TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO , AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT TURN FROM IT. Parents has a great responsibility for their children. Thats why they are gift, either you cherish it and treat it so precious or treat as of no value. Environment and others can be a factor with our upbringing with respect to the studies. BIBLE is our life guidelines, outside of it is lies and deception.

Righteousness? How about equality? According to the Old Testament we should still have slavery and according to Paul women should be treated as 2nd class citizens yet I don't see anyone here advocating either of those things.
A person living a sin habitually after being confronted in love in all the prescribed manners in scripture cannot be allowed to continue in Church as if nothing is happening, as if living in rebellion/habitual sin is acceptable, may it never be. We need men and woman of God who stand for God's commands. We would not allow a habitual rapist or drunk to continue to fellowship among us if he/she blatantly is in opposition to Christ's commands, would we? We shouldn't.

They are as God made them and who are we to question how God made them?

That's the major point though Jessica, did God make them this way? God created Eve for Adam, to be with him, this (according to the opposing view) is proof that God intended for a man to be with a woman and vice versa. The book of Leviticus is quite explicit about how homosexuality should be dealt with (though whether this is an actual commandment from God I am not sure on given the text)…

The book of Leviticus is quite explicit about how homosexuality should be dealt with (though whether this is an actual commandment from God I am not sure on given the text) and Paul in his letters is too (though probably just basing it on the Old Testament) Maybe he did make them this way, maybe it's not wrong just different.

I completely agree with you though, I don't know anyone who's gay/lesbian who made a concious choice to be that way.
If she is born into sin as we all are, that surely adds more weight to the "they didn't choose to be this way" argument. She can choose Christ and be saved but that doesn't mean she will automatically start fancying guys. There are a number of gay Christians who have chosen not to engage in physical acts with members of the same sex but aren't completely comfortable with getting with the opposite sex. It just seems more complicated and needs to be handled with care.

When I said I treat everyone the same, I meant as you put it, I take them as I find them.

If there is a gay gene (and we have no idea if there is) and it is discovered, that opens up a whole new can of worms as I can see the word "cure" being used and that really will get horribly messy.

Btw I don't pride myself in being a rebel, I just put my view and find not many people agree lol

I do not treat a drunk the same, or a murderer the same, or a liar the same as I treat everyone else. I treat every individual accordingly. According to God's leading, but I know what you mean, we do not alienate people because of their sin. That is true; we actually reach out to those the most.
I can't speak on behalf of an entire community but I do know that for my mate, the only concious decision she made about it was to accept it was part of who she was. She didn't ask to be gay, there are no obvious social or enviromental factors involved (her parents are Christian) and the time between her suspecting it and accepting it was long and hard so I don't think it's as straight forward as some are trying to make out.

Ultimately, it doesn't change how I interact with people. Gay or not, makes no difference to me, I treat everyone the same. It is a more emotional issue since how much choice does someone really have? Is it genetics, is it just a choice......it gets all very messy.
tag:www.allaboutgod.net,2011-04-19:1383940:Comment:9441252011-04-19T03:39:49.080ZDavid Velasquezhttp://www.allaboutgod.net/profile/DavidVelasquez616
